Terre de Provence
A name quite obvious, like a promise of originality.
A homage to Frédéric Mistral, Nobel Prize winner in Literature for his work “Mirèio” (Mireille) and founding member of the Félibrige association.
A promise to pass down Provençale culture initiated by the encounter with Claudette Ocelli our godmother, the first woman to become Majorale
of the Félibrige association.
A place of welcome and sharing, in the land of cicadas, olive trees, lavender and Southern sun.
For 20 years, we have had our heart set on passing down the human and cultural values that drive us in the heart of our hotel : sharing, knowledge, gratitude, generosity, kindness, availability, tolerance, responsibility… all these qualities that push us forward into self confidence and fulfillment.
Well-being and respect
We have chosen to offer you the greatest comfort while taking into account the respect of the environment. Thus, most of our equipment in the room is made of recycled and biodegradable materials, the bathrooms are equipped with water-saving taps and our cosmetic products are European EcoLabel.
At the Balnea Spa, the slippers are made of natural biosourced jute. Finally, the restaurant favors local products for dinner and breakfast.
The generosity and sharing of the company’s resources are extended outside the company walls with “l’histoire des Hirondelles” and children disadvantaged by life.
Since 2015, two cars signed Terre de Provence participate, each year, in the ice race of the circuit of Serre-Chevalier. If the first one is a double winner, the second one allows the children to take the place of co-pilot and to forget for a few moments their difficult condition of life. Maybe they will find support to start towards a better world?
Because being fair is important to Jean-Louis Bégel, he thought of, created and developed an algorithm that determines the accommodation rates.
The algorithm takes many factors into account to determine the right price. Fares are capped and recalculated every 5 minutes based on demand, events and context. Following the principle of air and train fares, the earlier you book, the better the price.
At your arrival, we ask for your ID and make a pre-authorization of 110,00€, blocked but not debited, (400€ for people under 25 years old) on your credit card.
The vast majority of our employees are multi-skilled. This allows them to occupy several functions within the establishment. In addition, the entire team is involved in our services, for example, in making pastries at dinner or welcoming guests at the Spa… This quest for versatility proves the self-sacrifice and solidarity of our employees every day to offer you the best quality of service.

to the hotel
As soon as you walk through the door, you enter into a provençal bubble that cuts off the surroundings of the hotel. More than 300 feet of lavander and 15 or so Olive trees, some among them hundreds of years old, surround the buildings. Low stone-cut walls to pebbles from Chateauneuf-du-Pape passing byJeanne de Flandresy Square, the central fountain, the star of Félibrige and the ringing clock of Saint-Jean, the whole atmosphere of Provençal life is remarkably highlighted by our artists and master craftsmen.
Upon entering, you pass by the large stained-glass window “Vincent et Mireille”, major work of Marcel Bracq. Discover also the earthenware of Apt, a private collection of the Faucon family and the “santon” figurines of the Fouque House, notably the unique and exceptional piece in terra cotta representing Frédéric Mistral who the lounge is named after.
